Q: What to say when you see a zigzag you love?
A: Sigh, makes me want a Missoni.
Ottavio Missoni, who founded the iconic fashion brand along with his wife, passed away yesterday at the age of 92. Tai, as his friends called him, was also a track-and-field star and met his wife while competing in the London Olympics in 1948 and he still holds the national record for the 400-meter for a 16-year-old.
The “color genius” launched a cutting-edge brand and built a lasting family business that was the first to show us that zigzags and polka dots do go together.
He once named his favorite pastimes — sleeping and reading — and preferred to work in places “ideal for passing the weekend.” Yeah, we would have gotten along just fine…
So throw on your Missoni and have a Compari on Tai!
